Beth's All purpose flour March 1, 2008 cherished bear (Texas panhandle) I have found this is the best all purpose flour to replace wheat flour. I use it for almost all recipes that call for wheat flour. My family can't tell the difference most of the time. The only thing I don't like is the cost. I have priced what it would cost to make my own though and there is little difference. I wish that Amazon would have the 5 Lb. bag that I can get from other sources.
Safe Flour... February 19, 2008 Susan B. Brown (Pico Rivera, CA) After being diagnosed with Celiac in 2007.... I was unable to eat so many things. Just the thought of finding good flour without wheat in it seemed like a daunting task. Thanks to this manufacturer, I am able to substitute this for wheat flour in most recipes. I thought I was going to go nuts without cake or cookies ever again... but now I can have them made with this flour.
Good Baking Mix, But Waste of Money January 18, 2008 N. Long (Richland, WA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a good flour (white rice). But what you may not know is that it is also the cheapest available flour for baking gluten free. You can usually find it in bulk at big grocery stores for $0.60-1.20 per pound. The other listed ingredients: potato starch, tapioca starch, and guar gum can also be purchased in bulk here on Amazon.
If you go to this extra effort, your $23 will go from 6 pounds of baking flour to 30.
Gluten free mix December 3, 2007 S. Lee Harper (Texas) This is my favorite mix. Even if I mess up on the yeast, it still tastes so good. I bought an electric knife to cut thin dense cracker like treat, bagged them dated and put in freexer.
Need to be eaten within 2 months for best taste. I freeze every thing that can't be eaten that day....cut up into single portion sizes.
Cons: (other than the cost, and the very expensive box it comes in,) none
gluten free favorite November 8, 2007 wildflowerz37 (Massachusetts) This is a great price for a staple item in my kitchen. I have been able to use it successfully in many recipes and it is so much easier than mixing several different types of flour to obtain a similar result. Very pleased with this purchase. I buy it frequently so being a prime member saves money on shipping. Highly recommended.
