Atkins, the Sequel August 28, 2010 Milkphobic (SCV) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I LOVE THIS BOOK!
If you're an old school Atkins practitioner & you are tired of thinking to yourself, "Bran-a-crisp? Pelican Punch?" this book is for you!
It ramped up my interest in Atkins again, and I was excited to see they've applied the science in new ways, including a vegetarian option.
It has really helped me to think about how and why I plateaued, and has given me the motivation to look at induction from a "whole food" standpoint, instead of letting the critics sway me with their fears about too much fat and too much protein.
Go, progress!
Great diet for everyone August 26, 2010 Roberta Brooks (EPSOM, NH USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Give it a try you have ALOT to lose, haha, clear, concise, but lots more receipes & easy to read infor on website. Still I am very glad I got this book, has alot of the "why things are the way they are with your metabolism" explained in it that you don't get any where else.
Informative and updated August 25, 2010 Rose 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is an essential tool to understanding Atkins nutrition. It is clearly written with current information that has not been presented prior to this printing. Adhered to properly, it is an effective method to control insulin. The scientific information at the end is also an easy read and very informative. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the current information available about low-carb.
Love the Updates! August 20, 2010 Marla (Reseda, US, Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not too much to add to the many rave reviews other than I LOVE the updates on the fast food and restaurant meals! I've done many burgers sans the bun, but am glad to know that Miso soup gets a thumbs up in the Japanese restaurants. And babaganoosh at my fave Middle Eastern restaurant. I've always tried to use common sense when doing Atkins and eating out, but this book clears up a few minor issues. And I no longer have to feel guilty when I have my one great cup of coffee with heavy cream in the morning!
A wealth of information.Makes sense August 15, 2010 debishope 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
this book is a wealth of good nutritional information, whether you are lean or obese. I find it especially helpful in dealing with diabetes. this is a way of life that can keep you healthy.
